No Fires Here!!

All is well here. Busy this week doing exercises like we will do in Iraq, patrolling, searching houses, clearing rooms, etc. We have a town here built as an Iraqi town we are training in. The fires are pretty far west of us, but tonight there is a beautiful red sunset. All from the fires I presume. I will have some time this weekend to give a better update. We are running 12 hour shifts right now and soon to go out again. A great bunch of guys here!!

Well we have had about 5 fires here in the last 10 days I'm sure you wouldn't have had any fun! Since your not here Minus had to make the roof today w/ Mike!

Hi Joe,
Glad to hear that everything is going good there. Glad the fires haven't ventured your way.I don't know if you get to see much going on, but I think they really could have used your help.It is really sad the amount of life people have lost. So many homes have been burnt to nothing. They showed this morning firefighters have to put on alumnium shields (I think that is what they were made of).All that you see is a bunch of things that kind of looked like robots or something standing in the fire. Boy, it would be really scary!
I look forward to reading all what is going on, so I will stay tuned to the rest of the story this weekend.
Take Care
Love

Hi Joe, good to hear from you...kinda wondered if you were fighting the California fires. Very sad situation.

A town that looks like Iraq...tell them, "Ymmm not for me, I want to go home"! NOT

I will keep those cards coming.

Thank you for the Cards Mary Jo. Means a lot to get mail. Even with the age of email and blogs, the good old mail call hasn't lost it's charm. Love ya!!

Hey Joe, thank you for the note; glad I made you smile. Funny I am sending cards to Leah as well and she said the same thing...getting mail really feels good. You got it, more cards coming your way.

Thank you from one grateful American; for your efforts on our behalf.

Hey,

We’ve had 6 fires in 9 days. We beat 88 to 53rd & Spaulding yesterday. Minas has made 2 roofs because there aren’t enough guys on the tower who stay healthy. Since you left the only guys on 349 are out of shape fat guys who lay up all the time. (except Mike, he doesn’t lay up)

We’ll have a new union pres. by Nov. 8th. I’ll keep you informed.

By the way, thanks for the new “Barn Boss Locker” (AKA Joe‘s locker). Your stuff is on the floor in the stink room now. I’ll put it in a box before you come back.
