Just Checking In

Hello all!! I know it has been a long time since I have updated. Working long days and six days a week. It is a huge adjustment from my firehouse work schedule. So not much time to get on the computer and email and all that. Things are good. A lot of good training going on. Been firing a bunch of weapons, been trained on night vision, patrolling and basic Marine Corps operating procedures. All is well though and will give a full update as soon as I get some time. The corpsman will be heading to Camp Pendleton in the middle of November for Combat Trauma Course. I am looking foward to that. And it will be a break from our field days. Have had my share of MRE's already and sand. What the hell? I guess this is a good place to train to get us used to what Iraq will be like. Anyway, I must move on to our next training event.

Well, glad to see that you are having fun, I guess....
What is an MRE? "Men of the Rear End"? Thats what I think it is.
Don't ask, don' tell, Joesephine.

Hi Joe,
Glad that you got a few minutes to email. Just letting us know that you are safe is a good thing.
I know MRE's are pretty nasty. I tried them before when Connie was in the Army. You are training in a area that would make you get use to sand.I guess it would get you ready for Iraq. Seen any camels around? I guess it will be nice when you are away from all of the field training.
I guess Uncle Orrin will be heading to Florida next week. He leaves earlier and earlier every year. Before long he will be down there with all them old folks full time. Hopefully he reads this..
Well you take care and we will read about you soon.
Love Cindy and Danialle

Hey Joe,
I just want keep you updated. You lost your bunk last week and we broke into your locker and gave your axe away too. The Tower is missing the rabbit tool, stokes basket, JAWS, and several assorted hand tools since nobody does inventory anymore.
God Bless Pal

Hi Joe,
Down another 10 days. Keep watching that clock tick, it will be Septemeber before you know.
Uncle Orrin left yesterday for Florida. Knowing him, he probably has arrived.Haven't talked with Mom yet, I'm sure she will let me know when he does arrive.
Are things slowing down for you. Still eating those nasty MRE'S?
You will end up so thin we won't even recognize you.
It's starting to look pretty fallish around here. I love fall, but I hate leaves in my yard. I tried talking Gramps into coming up to Michigan to help me rack. Maybe we could put some sort of scoop on his walker. I don't know how he was able to keep the leafs racked every year. It takes me all fall doing them a couple days a week. I think that I would rather own a loft in Chicago, and have them done for me.
Well guy you continue to be strong and take care of yourself. We will continue praying for all of you.
Love ya Cindy and Danialle

Hi Joe,
What is new with you?
I think all these comments are cute from your fellow fire- fighters. They like to mess with you! I think it is nice that they keep in touch.
Everything going good for you? I sure hope so.
The weather has been hanging on for us. It was in the 70's again today.I hope that it hasn't been to hot there.
Look forward to seeing your next blog.
Take Care

Did I just read in your complete bio that one of your favorite music artists is John Denver . . . I don't have to say it. You know.

Hi Joe,
Did you bring all your fire gear with you? They could really use some good men.It looks really scary out there all those fires.I guess it is a good thing that you aren't in Camp Pendletone right at this time. Seems like it is a big fire area. But,maybe the break from the field for so good ole fire fighting would be a Great change for you.Maybe that got you in on the action.Ground work instead of the ladder would be different.
Hope all is going good. Before you know it you will be back home for a short time.Watching the clocks tick down, makes my time go by fast.Thinking of buying Christmas presents even makes it go by faster.
Look forward to see what you been doing. Be safe!
Love Cindy and Danialle
